What is a “Message”

In ecPayroll system, a “Message” is generally referred to a system notification, a reminder, or any information generated by the system. A “Message” is similar to an email but not exactly. A “Message” can be sent to the recipient by different channels including email, web app (ESS/MSS), or even (optional) instant messaging app such as Whatsapp, Telegram, etc.

What is a “Message Box”

A “Message Box” is similar to “Email Box” which is used to receive messages (e.g. Leave application approval notification) generated by the system. Normally, staffs receive their related messages by using their own email box that the email address is storing in their employee record, or viewing the messages in web ESS after login their own account. However, some messages may be sent to a group of people such as a department or a working team that more than one people may need to view such messages. So a message box can be created for such group of people to receive group messages.

Administrator can create many “message boxes” for different group of people in system backend (i.e. TAMS). For each message box, you can input the name of the message box, an email address for receive message, and a cell phone number (optional) for receive message through IM apps.
